The Sellionaire Effect

Consuela of Baskets by Consuela & Antonio Smith, Author of The Sellionaire

We are all effected by the things we read, watch or say.   We're also influenced by the people with whom we decide to surround ourselves.  On Thursday, January 21, 2010, I attended the DeKalb County Division of Contract Compliance Brown Bag Seminar where I had the distinct pleasure of hearing Antonio Smith, author of The Sellionaire, speak on the importance of managing your time, setting goals and marketing your business to gain the most impact.  I support the concept of setting goals.  Each year I start off by setting at least five.  One of my goals in 2009 was to get media coverage via newspaper, radio and television.  Last Spring I was a guest on The Antonio Smith Radio Show.  My experience was documented in my May 2009 blog here.

At the seminar yesterday, Mr. Smith shared his insight from the many years he has been a sales trainer and a business strategist.  He has a diverse background as an author, talk radio personality and motivational speaker.  As a small business owner myself, Baskets by Consuela, I believe it is vital to learn from other entrepreneurs who have chartered the same waters to develop a successful brand.  Participants were reminded that many businesses that are successful today actually started out when it appeared to be a bleak time to begin a new venture.  He encouraged each of us to stay the course no matter what the economy looks like.  Implementing key strategies is pivotal to success.  We walked away with his "12 Keys to Generating More Sales in any Market."   

In closing, decide now where you want to be by year end in your business.  Set your goals, learn from others how they accomplished their dreams and then go for it yourself.  If you haven't yet listened to The Antonio Smith Show or read his book, The Sellionaire, I would recommend you do so soon.  I know from personal experience how they have made an impact on my business strategy for the better.
